Some things I’ve recognized

I don’t think people process people circumstantially — usually, people won’t take in most factors going into a person’s behaviors. After successfully throwing down a big scary event I legit needed a day where I just cleaned things and played magic the gathering poorly.

The point I want to drive to with that, is that some people seem on all the time — but they’re really fucking exhausted in moments you don’t see. And maybe exhausted in weird ways! Some people seem fearless, but they’re really just brave all the time because they’re constantly focusing on stimuli that makes them say “so this is what I’ll do” and that leads to their being fucking exhausted in the off time.

I think this is important to appreciate, because some of us are raised to be like batman. And that’s clearly stupid. Just run a corporation, be MMA and power and marathon fit. And somehow have no dirty laundry. Like we act like batman kicking darkseid in the nuts is just fucking stupid. I think it’s stupider that we overlook how much superfunctioning this ridiculous stupid character needs to casually embody just to even exist. He’s so dumb before I even start getting into bats. He’s a serial box character but we just fantasize so fucking hard about what we’d like to see in ourselves in others that we have to give this cartoon’s biography more exposure than an actual leader’s.

Anyway, the part that gets me is that Alfred is clearly a superhero too and no on says a goddamned thing. But what most people will see is the persona, and have judgements of bruce wayne or batman. I think no matter how stupid this is, the real point is this that there’s no way these characters can be “on” all the time. This leaves me kind of grateful for the people who do seem “on” all the time and scared of what happens when they’re not.
